Careful nail removal ensures the health of your nail bed and prepares your nails for another manicure or new extensions. First, your therapist uses a drill to remove the top layer of the nail. Then, your nails are soaked in acetone. After that, your therapist removes any excess and returns your nails to the acetone bath for additional time if necessary. Any stubborn bits of gel or acrylic that remain are carefully buffed off. You'll decide what to do next with your fresh, clean palette of nails.
